From infrastructure opportunity to bankable project.

LTI originates, engineers and structures renewable infrastructure through international development platforms and dedicated project companies - connecting host-country priorities with technology, capital and implementation capability.

DEVELOPMENT WITH AN ENGINEERING CORE

Bankable projects are designed - not discovered.

A resource, a site or an expression of political support does not yet constitute an investable infrastructure project. Bankability emerges when technical performance, permits, land rights, grid access, offtake, risk allocation, financing requirements, implementation capability and stakeholder interests are developed as one coherent proposition.

LTI combines this development responsibility with a German engineering base. The objective is to preserve the integrity of the infrastructure concept while moving it through the commercial, legal, institutional and financial processes required for implementation.

Project development is the process of converting an infrastructure need into an executable and financeable system.

THE LTI DEVELOPMENT CYCLE

One accountable process from origination through delivery.

Workstreams advance in parallel and are repeatedly reconciled. A change in grid design may affect the PPA; a lender requirement may affect technology selection; environmental studies may reshape layout and construction strategy.

01

Origination

Identify the infrastructure challenge, resource opportunity, demand profile and host-country priorities.

02

Concept Definition

Translate the opportunity into an integrated generation, storage, grid, water and demand concept.

03

Feasibility

Coordinate technical, environmental, hydrological, grid, commercial and financial studies.

04

Land & Permitting

Secure appropriate project rights, stakeholder support, environmental approvals and implementation pathways.

05

Commercial Structuring

Develop bankable offtake, implementation, grid, land, concession and direct-agreement structures.

06

Financing Integration

Align technical scope, risk allocation, security, insurance and documentation with investor and lender requirements.

07

Delivery Preparation

Qualify strategic partners, define responsibilities, optimise Bills of Materials and establish implementation governance.

08

Implementation & Handover

Coordinate delivery, testing, acceptance and transition into reliable long-term operation.

INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT DISCIPLINES

Every workstream must support the same investment case.

LTI coordinates the critical disciplines required to move an infrastructure concept towards financial close and implementation.

01

Technical

System architecture, feasibility, resource and yield, grid studies, hydrology, BESS use cases, design criteria and performance requirements.

02

Environmental & Social

ESIA, land and water interfaces, biodiversity, community engagement, resettlement risks, climate resilience and lender standards.

03

Commercial & Legal

PPA, implementation agreement, grid connection, land and water rights, direct agreements, risk allocation and contractual interfaces.

04

Financial

CAPEX and OPEX, tariff modelling, development budget, financing structure, lender assumptions, sensitivities and investment returns.

05

Stakeholder & Institutional

Governments, utilities, regulators, traditional leadership, communities, industrial users, development institutions and local partners.

06

Delivery & Supply Chain

Strategic OEM engagement, technology qualification, localisation, logistics, construction strategy, testing, acceptance and lifecycle support.

AN INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLATFORM

Global structuring capability. Project-country execution.

LTI’s international development business is organised through its United Kingdom and United Arab Emirates platforms, supplemented by local companies and dedicated special-purpose vehicles where projects require them.

This structure allows LTI to combine international contracting, financing and technology relationships with local project rights, permitting, stakeholder engagement and implementation capability. The precise allocation of roles is adapted to each country, project and financing structure.

BANKABILITY AS A DEVELOPMENT DISCIPLINE

Lower unresolved risk can translate into more competitive infrastructure.

International lenders and Development Finance Institutions require risks to be identifiable, allocated and documented. Revenue certainty, change-in-law protection, termination compensation, currency arrangements, grid obligations, land rights, step-in rights, direct agreements and enforceable security all influence whether long-term finance is available and on what terms.

LTI therefore treats bankability as part of project design. The aim is not to transfer every risk to another party, but to allocate each risk to the party best able to understand, manage or insure it.

Clear technical scope+Bankable contracts+Qualified partners+Financeable risk=Competitive infrastructure

THE GERMAN ENGINEERING LINK

Development decisions remain anchored in technical reality.

The project-development platforms draw directly on LTI’s engineering capabilities in Unna. System definition, technology qualification, supplier engagement, interface management, testing philosophy and lifecycle support are introduced before procurement decisions become fixed.

This protects the project against a common failure mode: a commercially attractive concept that cannot be delivered at the required performance, cost or risk level. Engineering and development remain separate disciplines, but they operate within one project logic.

ALIGNING THE PARTIES REQUIRED FOR DELIVERY

Infrastructure is delivered through coordinated interests.

LTI creates the project framework within which public institutions, utilities, investors, lenders, offtakers, communities and technology partners can make compatible decisions.
